ComputerWorld Canada, the national voice for IT professionals, is pleased to announce the return of Blogging Idol, a national showcase of Canadian social media talent within the technology community.

Blogging Idol is a contest that asks ComputerWorld Canada readers to post contributions to this Web site. Contestants will be given ideas and themes by the editors of ComputerWorld Canada, training on blogging best practices and continuous feedback on their contributions over the course of the six-week competition. At the end of the contest, our panel of judges will choose the best overall bloggers and posts. The top blogger will receive $1,000 cash and the other winners will receive one of several gift cards worth hundreds of dollars.

Winners of last year’s Blogging Idol continue to write for ComputerWorld Canada and have been profiled in print, online and on video.

Registration will offiically start March 8, 2010. We will offer a “warm up” period of two weeks for bloggers to try out our platform before the contest kicks off on March 22. Judging and prizes will be announced in May.

Computerworld Canada is a publication of IT World Canada, part of the worldwide IDG family of enterprise technology publications and Web sites.
